Ms Haran, Acting Principal

Ms Haran has over 25 years experience in public education, including more than 8 years in senior leadership roles across diverse school settings. She holds a Bachelor of Teaching and a Bachelor of Education and has taught all year levels from Kindergarten to Year 6.

Ms Haran has also worked as a Numeracy Facilitator for the Southwest Sydney region, supporting teachers to implement evidence based strategies in mathematics. As a passionate advocate for inclusive education, Ms Haran has led trauma informed practices such as the Berry Street Education Model and self regulation programs. She has extensive experience in schools with support units, including ED/BD settings.

Ms Haran mentors teachers and school leaders across multiple settings, fostering leadership growth, and takes great joy in working directly with students each day, supporting their academic, social and emotional development. She is committed to ensuring every student has access to a high quality teacher.

Ms Cockburn - Assistant Principal Inclusive Unit

Miss Cockburn has been a valued member of the Lalor Park Public School community for 15 years, contributing through a range of classroom, specialist and leadership roles. As Assistant Principal Inclusive Unit, she leads inclusive education practices and works closely with students, families, teachers and support staff to ensure every student is provided with opportunities to learn, participate and thrive. She is committed to creating safe, welcoming learning environments where every student is known, valued and supported to achieve meaningful growth through high expectations, evidence-based teaching and the thoughtful use of student data.

In her leadership role, Miss Cockburn supports staff to develop inclusive, curriculum-aligned learning programs, personalised learning plans and proactive approaches to behaviour and wellbeing. She is passionate about fostering students' communication, independence, confidence and sense of belonging through engaging, practical and hands-on learning experiences. She believes the best outcomes are achieved through strong partnerships between schools, families and support services and is dedicated to supporting both staff wellbeing and professional growth.

Mrs Young - Assistant Principal P-2

Mrs Young has over 20 years experience in the education sector, spanning across early childhood services and primary schools. She started as the preschool teacher at our school and has held a leadership position since 2022. Mrs Young holds a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood and Primary) and a Diploma of Applied Social Science, and has participated in a range of courses through the School Leadership Institute.

Drawing on her extensive early childhood expertise, Mrs Young champions play-based pedagogy as a powerful foundation for fostering creativity, critical thinking, and holistic development in young learners. She has a comprehensive knowledge of educational compliance and legislation, ensuring that all programs align with current standards and best practices, supporting both teachers and students to achieve excellence.

Mrs Young enjoys all aspects of creative and performing arts and believes these opportunities provide a meaningful way for students to explore their strengths, connect with others, and develop skills that prepare them for success both in school and in life.

Mrs Farran McKee - Assistant Principal 3-6

With over 30 years of teaching experience, Mrs Farran-McKee is a dedicated and passionate educator who has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to student growth and wellbeing.
A firm believer in differentiated learning, Mrs Farran-McKee has extensive experience catering for high potential and gifted students, as well as supporting learners with diverse needs. Through clear goal setting and the use of success criteria, she empowers students to take ownership of their learning and achieve meaningful progress.
Beyond the classroom, Mrs Farran-McKee is a trusted mentor for staff and a collaborative team leader, her experience and expertise has extended into tertiary education, being able to mentor and lead others in their respective learning and career goals. With a proven ability to integrate technology into learning through STEM, she embraces innovation to enhance teaching practice and student outcomes.

Mr Poon - Assistant Principal - Learning and Support

With over 10 years of experience teaching in Schools for Specific Purposes, mainstream schools, and support units, Mr Poon is dedicated to supporting students with intellectual disabilities (mild to severe), physical disabilities, and complex needs. He focuses on creating inclusive and nurturing learning environments tailored to each student’s individual strengths and goals. Committed to collaboration with families and specialists, he delivers meaningful educational experiences that promote growth and achievement. Outside of work, Mr Poon enjoys playing pickleball and immersing himself in gaming.

Mrs Nina Scott - Assistant Principal Hearing

Mrs Scott commenced teaching in 1981 in secondary schools within the Campbelltown area and now has more than 43 years of teaching experience.

In 1992 she was awarded a cadetship to pursue further studies in Special Education with a focus on Hearing. She then spent 14 years teaching in schools in Campbelltown and Liverpool as an Itinerant Support Teacher Hearing (ISTH), providing support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing (DHH) ranging from infants to Year 12 across various settings, including preschool, primary, secondary, and schools for specific purposes.

Mrs Scott has been leading in NSW Public Schools as an Assistant Principal Hearing (APH) since 2007. Working in the Deafness Centre at The Children’s Hospital Westmead, she was supporting families of children who are DHH throughout New South Wales linking them to their local APH for ISTH support and working closely with Specialist Paediatricians.

Her dedication to mentoring, collaborative approach, and steadfast commitment to achievement of student who are DHH culminated in receiving the esteemed Award of Excellence in 2024 from the Educators of Deaf Students Association (EDSA).

She currently supervises the largest ISTH team in the Metropolitan South and West School Performance Directorate.
