Science and technology

Science and technology is mandatory for all students from Kindergarten to Year 6.

In science and technology, students explore the natural and made worlds. They learn how to apply scientific and technological skills, knowledge and understanding across a broad range of contexts.

Science provides a way of inquiring about the world around us. It explores evidence and investigates ways to discover, develop and produce solutions to real world problems. The inquiry and skill-based nature of science opens doors to ideas and discoveries.

Lalor Park Public School has a quality technology program. Students develop their enquiry, and information and communication technology (ICT) skills in our computer lab on a weekly basis. Each classroom has an interactive whiteboard, as well as the computer lab and library.

Their ICT skills are enhanced through the integration of computer and digital media in every classroom. Our students have the opportunity to experience a variety of technology for learning such as desktops, laptops, 'one laptop per child' OLPC XO laptops, student notebooks and iPads.
